Pelicans

Wednesday 26th March- Viking art afternoon

Pelican class were lucky to be awarded some ‘reward time’ after winning last months attendance award. As the class have the the topic of Vikings , Mrs Lambert arranged for Mr Gibbons, our local artist to come in and spend some time on Viking knots and their art use.

The children started drawing a grid pattern on their paper - followed by making a ‘snake ‘ move across their grid and then back in a different direction. A Viking knot pattern. This was quite tricky for lots of the children but they persevered which was lovely to see.
Once the knot pattern had been drawn, they then choose their two colours and painted the ‘snakes ‘ . Some amazing art work has been produced. Photos to follow once they’ve been cut out and backed. When this is finished, they will go on display in the KS2 corridor.
