In Art, we have looked at artists Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet and Georgia O'Keefe. We created a painting in each of their styles before deciding on our favourite and creating a picture from the flowers in our class garden.
Thank you so much to everyone who joined our reading cafe! As it is British Science week, all the activities had a scientific theme which linked to fairy tales.
This half term, in DT, we have been learning all about kites. First we made Guatemalan kites. In real life they are huge! Then we made carp kites which are Japanese kites that look like fish. Next, we made diamond kites. Before we made our own kites inspired by what we had learnt, we completed a Science experiment to see which material would be the best material for a kite. After that, we planned our design and made our own kites. Finally, we flew them!
We achieved Mrs Lilycrop's writing challenge! We choose to have a visit from some furry friends.
Today we performed our model text "How to train a dragon."
Today we had a visitor from college who told us how important it is to recycle. She then asked us to make posters to go up around our school and hers.
We had so much fun today! We met Lorraine who showed us different African musical instruments. We had our faces painted and learned some tribal dancing!
We met TV vet Luke Gamble today. He shared photos, stories of his adventures and even read an extract from his new book.
Today we learned about choices, right and wrong and making decisions.
