Wednesday

Good morning Owls,

We have made it to the middle of the week. I am looking forward to seeing you for our final zoom chat tomorrow. Are you going to be dressed up for World Book Day?

Mia has been practising her hair do for tomorrow. What do you think?

In this lesson we will introduce our witch and explain what they look like. Make sure you have your box plan to help you.

Maths

In the lesson today, we are going to count the vertices on different 3D shapes. What are vertices? They are corners! Why not start by creating your own 2D shapes in the game. When you are ready, watch the video and complete the activity. If you are feeling confident, why not try the challenge.

History

Can you remember what our new topic is in History? We are learning all about the history of flight. Click on the video below to watch the very first successful aeroplane flight!

How long ago do you think that was? How can you tell?

In the lesson today we are going to compare different methods of flight. We need to think about what is the same and what is different. In the document below, there are images of different types of flight. I would like you to compare one of those methods with the very first aeroplane. If you are feeling like a challenge, you could choose to compare more than one.

Here are some questions to help you compare:

- What do they look like?

- How do they fly?

- Do they have an engine?

- Do they have wings?

- How many people can fit in it?

You might want to cut out and stick or draw your selected images.

Optional Extras

Art/DT

Someone started to draw but then they stopped. What were they going to draw? Can you turn each box into its own beautiful picture using the lines that are already there?
