Good morning Owls!
I hope you had a lovely weekend! Can you believe it, we have made it to week 5! We are now in February.
This week is an important week. We are going to be thinking about our mental health. That means we are going to be thinking about how we can make sure our mind is happy.
Now, I have two very special guests who are waiting to say hello to you below in thinking time. They make me very happy. Keep an eye out as they might come back to see how you are.
Miss Stevenson, Mrs Parkinson and Miss Raven
Get your body moving and your brain warmed up with this song.
What makes you happiest?
Two of the most special things to me are my cats. They make me very very happy and they are always there to cheer me up when I am feeling down. There is Hobbes and Mia. They are brother and sister. Hobbes really likes food. His favourites are chocolate cake, bolognese and broccoli. He will sneak into the kitchen when no one is looking and gobble them all up! Mia loves to sleep in the sun. She is very chatty and likes to fall asleep on my knees at the end of a long day of napping.
In this lesson we will create a box plan for our instruction writing all about the Fire Giants. We will think about the purpose of each section and then we will think about key words or phrases we want to use. You will need your story map.
Today we are going to continue to look at number bonds but this time we are going to be looking at bonds all the way to 100.
Last week we looked at properties of materials. Can you remember what a property is? This week we are going to think a bit more carefully about the suitability of materials. For example, why is it good that windows are made out of glass and not bricks? Watch the video below to remind yourself about the different properties and to think about the suitability of different materials. Then complete the activity. The activity is an interactive PDF which means you can type on it, alternatively you could print it off or copy the answers onto paper.
Make a paper doll chain. You could draw all your special people. How long can you make yours?
