The spelling guides (below), for the older year groups, tell you the key spellings that children are expected to be able to spell (adjacent year groups can be the same), how we teach them, how you can help (it shows you the precise strategies that will help your child to learn their spellings) and how you will know how well your child is doing with their spellings.

 

For the younger years spellings are more based on phonics. There are parent guides on the website to help you with this. (Home learning tab then Reading home learning help and information sub tab).
